St. Louis, Missouri: Roeslein Renewables has announced that its Founder and Board Chairman, Rudi Roeslein, has been honored with the prestigious Excellence in Bioenergy Award at the International Biomass Conference & Expo 2026. In addition to receiving the award, he delivered a keynote address at the conference, held on April 1 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

The award, presented by BBI International and Biomass Magazine, recognizes decades of leadership by Roeslein in renewable energy development, conservation, and industrial innovation. He was honored alongside Alicia Gibson and Cold Steppe Inc. as part of the event’s annual awards program celebrating impactful contributions to the bioenergy sector.

Accepting the recognition, Roeslein emphasized that while progress has been made, significant work remains. He highlighted his long-standing vision of aligning energy production with environmental restoration—where wildlife, ecosystems, and energy systems intersect to deliver benefits such as improved soil health, enhanced water quality, stronger rural economies, and scalable renewable energy solutions.

Roeslein founded Roeslein & Associates in 1990, growing it into a global leader in engineering, procurement, and construction. He later established Roeslein Renewables to advance renewable natural gas and anaerobic digestion technologies, transforming agricultural and industrial waste into clean energy and sustainable by-products. His work has also integrated prairie restoration and land conservation with energy production, demonstrating how environmental stewardship and economic growth can progress together.

Commenting on the awards, Anna Simet of BBI International noted that the annual recognition highlights individuals and projects driving innovation and real-world impact in the biomass industry.

The International Biomass Conference & Expo 2026, held from March 31 to April 2, brought together global industry leaders, project developers, technology providers, and policymakers to explore advancements in biomass power, thermal energy, biofuels, and biobased products. During his keynote, Roeslein shared insights on scaling renewable energy solutions, integrating conservation practices, and accelerating the transition toward sustainable energy systems.
